It was my idea to suggest an activity with the song "Mucho mejor" de los Rodríguez. It's the one I (sort of) sang a bit the other day during the call, but I found we could take better advantage of it when you become better at this :-) (Anyway, I felt like sharing the song with you, so I'll send it to you now)
So... what can we work today at? What about numbers and months? I find them really useful! For instance, it could help you to talk about special dates (como el dos de abril/as April second).
Here's Andy's task for today!
- Learn and practice numbers from 1 to 30 in Spanish. You can find both the spelling and the pronunciation in the following link
https://www.lexisrex.com/Espa%C3%B1ol-N%C3%BAmeros/1-30
- Learn and practice the names for the months in Spanish (we don't use capital letters for them, as distinct to English). This video might help for the months but watch out! What he mentions around minute 2:23 is for South American Spanish, for Spanish from Spain you'd better follow my indications after the video :-)
Here you can find an example to see the pattern to write a specific date in Spanish:
"el (article/the) dieciséis (day of the month/sixteen) de (of) agosto (the month/August)"
- Would you dare to write these dates in Spanish?
April 2nd
April 20th
June 7th
July 13th
January 19th
November 1st
You can think in some more dates if you feel like and keep practicing! Which numbers/months do you find more challenging?
So, that's all for today! Numbers are not easy (As I see it, specially the ones between 11 and 19) so, I wouldn't worry if getting the right spelling took you a bit of practice.
Espero que disfrutes el reto y que tengas un buen día :-)
